Slow day

Post by rocket »

Put in at Shields mid morning, not looking forward to the forcasted NE wind. Ran way east to some rocks west of the Aucilla. Very slow day! By the sounds of the VHF, no one was doing good.
Managed one 23" red, and threw back some barely legal trout.
Planned to go offshore, but the forecast kept me from taking the proper rods, and tackle. Wind died down early afternoon, and it got SLICK!!! :smt013 :smt091 .
Oh well, maybe next time I'll get to report in the offshore category. At least I'll have fried redfish fillets for lunch/dinner tomorrow, so I'm not complaining :-D .

Dark Water

Post by Fisherman989 »

I was at the same place Tuesday....around the rocks...Cob.....Peter and Paul Rocks....and it was badly stained. I fear for the coming river season because of this dark water. The Aucilla River looks like black coffee flowing out to sea....and real full. Our luck was about the same too.
