Anchor cleat for aluminum bay boat

Post by Edwardo »

I have a 20' aluminum bay boat (Xpress) and need to install a cleat on the bow to tie off an anchor. This will be used on lakes and bays in AL, GA, FL; not offshore unless its very calm. I have limited access underneath the deck. I'm looking at a model 331 Quick-Cleat.http://www.quick-cleat.com/series-300-f ... 3-8-lines/ Would this be suitable? There is also a Cam Cleat that I'm looking at. Other than those two, I could get a fold-down or pop-up cleat. I will welcome your comments.

Those should work fine. You probably want to rubber in between the steel and the aluminum to cut down any oxidation issues between the two metals.
