Dogwoods bloomin
Saw one of my dogwoods was in bloom today. The old timers would say that is when the trout move to the flats. I think I remember someone saying that is when Spanish show up also, but not sure about that. Go get em!

Not seeing the dogwoods here in Thomasville yet. But yes when they are in full bloom it's time to hit the flats.

Another harbinger I always love seeing arrive is the swallow-tail kite... they show up it's a sign the cobes are soon to follow. They seem to depart our area around the same time as well.

Best indicators of when it's time to go fishing:
1. When the dogwoods are blooming.
2. When the dogwoods are not blooming.
LOL... Up north dogwoods blooming mean spring turkey hunting, bass fishing and morel mushroom hunting.
They are definitely blooming in Crawfordville. Sounds like it's time kick into full-fishing mode!
What is it about dogwoods that bring so many great things??

The best time to go fishing...
Any time you can go fishing!
But the dogwoods are a good natural signal, along with azaleas. Certainly doesn't hurt having a very mild winter and record-high temps either.
