Ok, I'll take a stab at answering your question :-) . If you are asking whether or not you need a saltwater fishing license, then I would venture to say yes. If you are asking if you need a special shrimping license, then I would say no IMO, because I have never heard of a rec. shrimping permit. Maybe someone else can verify this for you.

I was referring to a saltwater license. Marine Fisheries is kinda sketchy with their info. Thanks.

The license is required for taking, attempting to take or possessing marine fish. These include finfish species as well as marine invertebrates. Examples of finfish are sharks, trout, mackerel, rays, catfish, eels, tarpon, etc. Marine invertebrates include snails, whelks, clams, scallops, shrimp, crab, lobster, sea stars, sea urchins, etc.
