I got one of the ugly stick inshore rods, I got the 7'6 med-heavy paired it with an Okuma 5000 reel. Put this setup together for the bigger fish and haven't even had the chance to yet. Feel good in the hand and it feels like it has some backbone to it. Can't wait to use it

Good to know.Salty Gator wrote:jsaunders wrote:I just picked one of these up after snapping the tip off of a shimano clarus. Haven't had it on the water yet, but it feels great in hand for a $50 rod. Only noticeable difference so far between it and some of my higher end rods is weight. It's a little on the heavy side. I'll reply again once I use it on the water

Take the Clarus back to where you got it. There is a warranty, you may have to pay $15 or so. They had a real problem with the new Clarus' breaking. My buddy went through 3 before they finally gave him a terramar. Lin said they had such a problem, they discontinued the line. I liked the way they looked and the new grip was pretty cool.

ive never had a receipt, but they know me by name where I shop. Try anyway, all they can do is say no. The terrimar should have a warranty also. Unless it's the tip guide that's bent, and that's an easy fixDixie Dawg wrote:I broke a clarus about a month ago but I don't have my receipt or anything. I also have a terramar and have fished it pretty hard for 4-5 years now, the tip is permanently bend and twisted but I still like it.Salty Gator wrote:jsaunders wrote:I just picked one of these up after snapping the tip off of a shimano clarus. I may try to take the clarus back. It's the blank on the terramar that is bend but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the rod. Still cast well and have probably caught 50+ redfish on it the last couple months, just looks off so I'm going to leave it be. Now that I say this it'll probably break tomorrow.

If it's the blank, they will probably replace it.Dixie Dawg wrote:I may try to take the clarus back.
