Bald Point 10/27

Post by Joeseminole18 »

Got down there about 2pm today and the mullet were everywhere. They were getting busted all down the shore to Alligator Point by pelicans, and getting busted up all around Bald Point by macks. It was really ridiculous.

Getting bait wasn't the easiest thing since they never wanted to come close enough, but I did manage to net one and threw him right back out there. After nothing on the long tosses, pitched him pretty close to shore and wham, he got pounded at the top and my line went racing off. Just as I clicked over, the line stopped moving and my hook had been torn out of the mullet. My leader also was frayed to hell, which is why I'm saying it was a mack. I think I would have had a field day with some smaller mullet, but none the less it's encouraging that today was so hot.

Good deal, Joe. It's about time for the fish to turn on.
What was I supposed to do today?

You're right, it's about time that things turn on.

The mullet were literally getting busted up every 2-3 minutes, it was crazy. I might have to venture back down there next Monday morning with an ample supply of bait and see what happens.

Go towards Alligator Point and follow the signs pointing to the left "Bald Point State Park" or if in a boat, put in at Mashes Sands and go strait across the Bay to the other side and you will be at Bald Point :-D
