Keaton 4/29/17...WIND!

Post by Will In The Wild »

Fished all day from Keaton up to Spring Warrior. Only found 3 keeper trout including one 20" and 1 rock bass. Had several shorts but never got on them. The wind was rough most of the day and unfortunately we had to take out at 5 when the bite was picking up. It sounds like others had better luck! Hopefully going to try them again next weekend. Maybe the wind will lay down!

Tough day, sounds like my last one there. What color were you throwing? White with chartreuse has been the best one lately.

We were throwing white with chartreuse tails. I probably caught just as many on the natural color. I caught the biggest one on the D.O.A white. I really like that D.O.A. It held up much better than the gulp.

I don't know then, the bigger fish must be further north. Those 5 guys that killed 'em over the weekend were fishing out of the Eaglenest, between Spring Warrior and Fenholloway.

I might run up there and give it a try this weekend.
