For me anyways. I have seen a couple different ways to tie the FG knot. I mostly use the double uni because I tend to fish shorter leaders. But I like the FG knot and tend to tie when on shore, but if I break off or retie on the boat, for speed I usually use the double uni.
This way looks easier to tie in the wind and on the boat (and without my reader glasses!). I think I will practice this method a bit and see how I like it.
Does anyone tie it this way?

For on the water and usually off the water leader to line knot I use the double surgeon knot, very simple and very strong. Only downside is it is a bulky knot and will not usually go through the first eye and can't really be tied if there is something already tied to end of leader.
