Carrabelle pin fish

Been going out of carrabelle now and only problem I run into is catching bait before we shoot offshore. I throw a 10 foot cast net and also have a 16 foot net. Spend about an hour or two every time and only get about 20 decent sizeers we shoot across to dog island look for grass and throw. Anyone have better places to find pins or tricks that could be useful. Yes I suck ass a throwing the net I'd say 7 out of 10 throws I'll get perfect spreads on the 10 foot 3 out of 10 on the 16 foot. We throw in about 4-7 feet. I'm sore before we even start fishing lol and soaked. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated on how to locate or attract more fish still a youngin out here. Will be going tomorrow morning

Sabiki rig with hooks tipped by smallest pieces of gulp you can fit on them fished in 4' to 8' waters with grass.

This or carry a break buster with a small hook and tip it with gulp, shrimp, squid,cooked hotdog or whatever else you have should work. Set the cork to put your bait just above the grass, you should catch a good size pin every cast or two.

Doubly check that big net buddy. Anything over 14' is illegal. Don't want to get a ticket for that. I 2nd the sabiki method. Use fresh gulps ( we used some old ones and couldn't buy a pin). Move until you find them 4-15' over grass. The clearer the water the better. Or use chum if you want to use the net, you may get some pilchards, but more likely some nasty catfish in your net.Good luck

If you want to use a cast net you will probably have to chum them in to catch enough per throw.

Well appreciated the info did sabiki rigs caught a lot of pins got a cobia a trigger fish and a gag and this monster of FREAKING MONSTER I'm crapped my pants when I saw it come up caught using 2 pound blue runner I caught on the sabiki rigs and on 80 pound Line we believe it to be about 180-200 pounds!!!! Gonna be a good fish story lol

Shrimp sabiki rigs. Dab a little procure on them. You will fill up your baitwell in 30min. Look for 3-6ft water with grass, preferably next to a channel

If you're hell bent on a cast net, go to dollar store and buy a bag of the cheapest cat food you can get. Throw it out and wait a little bit. The bait will come. Also works well in a chum bag offshore
