That 90 is a workhorse. My pa in law has an 08. Cranks on the first turn and runs like a scaulded dog. Looks really clean. Glws

Yes it is. Spark plugs and lower unit oil been all it's needed. Non ethanol gas and sea foam has also been good for it. Found a clean low hour yam 115 about the same year model that's replacing it so it can run like a bigger scalded dog.Salty Gator wrote:That 90 is a workhorse. My pa in law has an 08. Great price for a clean workhorse engine. You might want to list on Florida Sportsman and The Hull Truth as well, Killswitch. Won't last long.
PS. Just posted a link on micro skiff.com for you. That's a popular engine for flats skiffs, so maybe it'll produce more leads. Good luck!

Thanks for the leads. Just got info of some interest from microskiff. However, I have a deposit / sale pending when they get back from vacation. Will post in a few days with "sold" or "still available." Thanks again for passing along the info.

I'm 15 and have a 14' McKee Craft. I'm looking to upgrade the engine. I've seen a 90 on one before, but wanted somebody's opinion on it. Is it to big of a motor for this boat?

Can't answer that question for you. However back in the 80's, my uncle had a 14 or 15 ft. Mckee with a 70 Johnson. It would scoot! Maybe someone can chime in and answer your question.. What's the HP rating for the boat?

Sounds a little big for that application.Ryan Anderson wrote:I'm 15 and have a 14' McKee Craft. I'm looking to upgrade the engine. I've seen a 90 on one before, but wanted somebody's opinion on it. Is it to big of a motor for this boat?

HEY RYAN, WE HAD A MCKEE WITH A 50 HP EVINRUDE THAT WE FISHED THE FLATS WITH, WE HAD A FRIEND THAT HAD THE SAME BOAT WITH A 75 HP EVINRUDE ON IT AND IT WOULD REALLY FLY ACROSS THE WATER, ALL WERE STABLE LITTLE BOATS AND HAD NO DEFECTS THAT WE EVER RAN INTO. WE KEPT OUR BOAT DOWN AT THE COAST IN THE WATER SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH LAUNCHING AND RETREVEING EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO.
