Launched from the LH at 3:00 p.m. to catch a rising tide. Strategy was to go as far east as possible to find clearer water. Saw mullet jumping everywhere about 1/2 mile west of Grey Mare. Stopped south of the furious activity and drifted. My partner immediately catches a 20 inch trout. Interestingly, I threw a Zapata Spook (??) and a mullet appeared to hit it and the line broke. I was able to recover the plug and began to fish with shrimp under a CT. We caught a lot of shorts and proceeded to a little west of Cobb rocks. First cast by my partner and he catches a 18 incher. Continued to catch more shorts and some big catfish. Left at 5:00 p.m. to get my partner to a memorial service by 7:30.

It was a good 1.5 hrs of fishing time with the water being very stained. Fished 3 feet of water. Partner was very successful with monofilament leader, shrimp and red circle hooks under CT.

I fished CT with power pro and red jig head and only had shorts and a catfish. It sprinkled on us and it was extremely overcast, but it was better than working for sure! Screwed up my lower unit and prop in the rock garden but that is another post.

Good short productive trip. (At least for your partner) Long ride for just a few fish. Good job...
