Very few boats out today. Started out slow and hit spurts until the wind got up. No keepers, just shorts. Best time to fish and the weather folks showed storm headed our way, so we headed in. Then no storm. Oh well, good day on the water and everything worked.

Sharks, Short Trouts, Sand Trouts, there are every kind of fish out here. I got a nice 21 Trout near a dock. My sister-in-law caught a 3 ft hammerhead. One of the campers here caught at least 20 Sand Trouts. He show me how to clean these fish and how to get the filets off of these fish. Also the 21in trout had some worms in it.

Sounds like you have a good time. Two things, First on the 21 inch trout. A fish over 20 inches, especially this time of year, is going to be lousy with worms, so it is my line of thinking to put them back and let them make baby trout and eat the 15-19 inch ones. Just something to think about. Second thing your sister in law more than likely caught a bonnet head not a hammerhead, which would really only make a difference if you wanted to keep it.

Thanks for the advice. Went back and looked at a picture of the shark and it was a bonnethead. Threw that piece of meat back. I caught many shorts. The only way to not measure them was to throw them back. I was keeping only one large trout.
