Prescription sunglasses… Any recommendations?

Anyone have prescription sunglasses that you really love?

I know Costas are the premier brand but the ones I want will be about $600.
I've only lost one pair of $100 cheap ones from Walmart but I'm convinced as soon as I buy the $600 ones they will become part of a reef!

I'm looking for other alternatives!

Also wondering about color.
I mix my fishing time between in and off shore- usually spending 75% of my time in shore.
What would you get?

Been a Costa man since 1989 and had a pair that was 20-plus years old finally needing repair. Sent them in and for a $15 fee, they sent me a brand new pair of my choice (no longer made my style). Can't beat that. Costa also is a good corporate player. They give tons of products to conservation causes and sponsor great initiatives like the one to cut down on the disposable plastic that's ending up in the oceans.

Costa does prescription lenses and you get what you pay for--serious protection for your eyes from harmful UV rays. If you're worried about losing them there are several lanyards available to keep them from going swimming.

Gray is the lens color for offshore. Cuts down the most reflected glare. Cooper or amber for inshore. Since you'll be using your glasses for both, I'd suggest going with the green or blue mirror tint over copper.

Unlike SK I've been very disappointed with costas customer service. I won't get into specifics, but I believe it isn't near what it used to be. Is seems when they went mainstream and became popular ( a long time ago only fishermen had them), they stopped the customer service that they built a reputation on. I have 2 pairs now, but won't be buying more. My next pair will probably be smith optics or Maui Jim. Good luck

I'd say solar bat's, they're made in the usa and have a great warranty. plus the owner is an optometrist, I highly recommend the mossback or mossback gradient lenses.
