Huge Pompano for these parts;

Four of us fishing.
Wind: slack.
Water: clear to lightly stained.
Water temp:74.
Depth:18 to 36 inches.
Time:7:30am until.
Location:west of lighthouse.
Date:10/30/04.
Results:3 Pompano over 5lbs. each,14 trout 16 to 22 inches,1 redfish 21 inches,3 bluefish nearly 3 lbs each.
Baits:topwater and straight jigs.
Beer:Coor's Light.

Nice pomps--did you see them skipping, or did you come across them by chance?

They were'nt skipping,but you could see them dart everywhere chasing bait. We did'nt go there to target them although we know they frequent this spot. We went there for the trout.

Pompano on top dogs? Never heard that. I'm a little confused and wondering...
At the very least, they must have been some hungry fish.
Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
