Panama City - 11/07/04

Post by Chalk »

Doesn't really rate as a report, but what the heck.....

I reached the end of the internet, so I thought I would hit my in town spots....Went to the first place and fished for 2 hours with only three blow ups (which I think were lizards) and the largest lizard fish I have ever seen or caught.....It had to have been over 15", a hog no doubt......

Off to the "trout attacking" Chalk hole.....I carried the "whip" my 7'6" Ugly Stik with my Stradic....I have been using it to jig the seawall at work, Friday I had something take me under the wall and break me off, couldn't turn it...Anyhow, back to today.....I tie on the big chugg bugg and start walking down, wade out, rear back and fling......And watch the chugg go about 100+ yds out to sea, with no line :smt017 .....Seawall from Friday left a nick in the line, I suppose.....Out of the water and back to the truck, tie another chugg on and go back to fishing.....

Fish around for an hour or so, bait is every where....I'm working my way to the point in half shin deep water.....Plugging away, few swirls......Then I hear this swirl over my right shoulder, I look over my shoulder and see this large trout shadow swim to my right and around in front of me and off to the left, within 5 foot of me....OMG :o ....That had to be a 30+ in trout, I have seen one  ......Needless to say I fished the crap out of that area with only one other strike.....

Saltwater stress relief at it's best.....Beat sitting at home and getting fat....

I did retie......The nick was about 4 foot up the line..I was pissed, if it wasn't so cool I would have swam after that plug, we had been together for a few years, plus I had just put bleeding red trebles with feathers on it....Oh well, I guess I will have to buy some more tackle :-D

WTG, Chalk. Good job on the "hawg" lizard fish. Theres probably very few fisherman that have that "notch" on their pole.

As usual, an interesting and entertaining report.
For sure, 'Cain't catch no fish, sacked out on the sofa in front of the TV.

Interesting report. I wish I could have seen that lizzard fish.. :-D
Sounds like a real fishing trip, snapped lines, lost lures, see um but can't get'em to bite. You'll hit it one of these times and make us all jealous.

I'm working my way to the point.....
What point would that be?

I was born and raised in Panama City. Just curious.
