Spray-on bedliner? Or drop-in?

Any opinions on what I should get for my truck? It seems to me a drop-in liner might be best because it can be removed or replaced. I also am not sure I like the idea of something sprayed on my factory paint. But I've seen some opinions that the rubberized drop-ins don't prevent scratches as well as the spray-on does. Are there preferences or experiences y'all can share?

I've always had drop in liners so can't comment on spray liners. I've learned that drop ins look good new, but can fade or warp over the years, and as SG said, they hold moisture...and that will cause rust if the paint is scratched to bare metal anywhere under the liner. Dirt tends to get under the liner at the tailgate and under the tailgate cover. I think I'll try a spray on my next truck.

I'm on my second truck with a heavy reinforced rubber mat and tailgate cover. It's heavy enough it doesn't move but not too much that I can't pull it out to sweep and wash the bed after hauling a load of dirt/mulch, etc. It's pre-cut to fit tight against the wheel wells and corners. Can't remember where I got it, but it's 1/2-inch thick and going strong--at least 15 years old between the two F-150s.

I vote for the spray in liners, but make sure it is a good one like Rino liner or Linex. Have had mine for 11 years and had it done over the top edge of the box like a rail cap. Very durable and stuff does not slide around like with a slick finish. Well worth the cost.

My Ford F150 came with a factory spray-on Bedliner. It seems durable and I’m happy with it. However, it is very slick. My gear will slide around on the bed if it is not strapped down

My factory Ram liner has been great. The top caps are plastic covers but the rest is spray in liner. Still looks great, 4 years old. I have also used those rubber mats and they work great to keep things from sliding around but a liner is better for protection.

Linex would be my choice, my rhino pro wasn't that impressive to me. The hard plastic drop in liners I've had weren't very food either.

Dropins usually rub through the pain in spots add moisture and rust is an issue.

My truck has the OEM spray in liner in the bed and on the tailgate, tough stuff but slick. I added a rubber mat to keep things from sliding around.

If I had to do it again I would definitely get the spray in from the factory or aftermarket.

Thanks, all. It sounds like there are benefits to both types. I need to check out some spray-in beds in other people's trucks, since I don't know that much about them.

If you're buying new definitely get the factory spray-in. They look good, but I also added a rubber mat. I've had drop-ins for years, had to add rubber mat to them too.

I second Silverking. I like a hard tailgate protector and a heavy bedmat.
