A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
This is the only thing I've found that takes that St.Marks river Funk off my boat. I get that brown tannin line and washing just will not take it off but Sno Bol like you would use to clean your toilet cleans it up quick. Ya'll may have already known this but it's new to me so I thought I'd share. Don't know yet what the long-term effects on the finish are but so-far, so-good.
If you try this, I would suggest a rubber glove and a sponge. My hands where stinging for a while after I used it without gloves .
Tom K recommended On/Off to me. It's not as cheap as sno-bol, but it gets the boat white!!!!!!! Can be found at West Marine. You develop a tolerance to the stinging after a while.
"The Works", an aluminum foil ball, and a capped two liter bottle...shake, wait ten minutes and kaboom!. Instant firecracker. Makes you wonder what you're foolin' with and don't ask me how I know this
Eerman - It is the same as pool chlorine and brake fluid. Do NOT try it. It makes quite an exposion.
The take home message is that chlorine based products can be dangerous, be careful using them on your boat. I used "The Works" on the floor of my boat after it got a stain from oak leaves. I poured it on straight for the full effect. Next thing I know there is a haze hanging over my boat and it is burning the #$%* out of my eyes. It will also give you a pretty nasty chemical burn on your skin.
"Support the country you live in OR live in the country you support!!!!"
Hey guys The Works is not bleach its an acid. If you mix it with bleach you release chlorine gas and thats the eye-burning haze mentioned above.
No I am not a chemestry guy but I know this from having to call poision control once. Long and contentious story. Trust me. Don't mix The Works with bleach or chlorine based products. Bad News.
I use Soft-Scrub. Works great on Ochlocknee river stain. And there ain't no tea like the Ochlocknee. Think I got a start on a really whiney country song......
