When one of the waves came over the bow I decided that was enough. I turned northeast started a run against the wind toward Lanark Village. Somewhere along the way, my hat blew away, and I had to turn back and retrieve it. Stopped behind Ho-hum RV park where most of my drifts started. I had escaped the 3’s & 4’s in the middle of the bay. Along the edges of the bay the waves were tolerable, but the wind was aggressive making for a fast drift. It was easy making 30 and 40 yard casts. Put the TC II in at Carrabelle at 8:42 am this morning. My initial plan was to head over to the bay side of Dog Island and work the flats & channel. When I reached the bay from the river, I was greeted by a 20mph wind. Being hard-headed, I decided to make the run for the island. Alamar- When you get an opportunity to fish, you go when you get the chance. In my opinion, the best fishing pictures are those taken while the fish is alive and being caught. They are much better than those taken after the fish has been on the ice. I did both.

I would have never thought of trying that... how much do you think it helped?1- cutting board
1- nice lock blade knife
1- Lb of frozen shrimp (for tipping the jigs)
1- Fishing rag
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Sir- If you try the method I used be sure to bring extra(s) along if you need to start a new chum line.
I downloaded my tracks this morning from my GPS and studied my attempt to cross the bay. I made it less that 1/4 of the way across before turning back.
It sure seemed like I made it to the middle....
Loosing all that gear should give you an idea just how rough it was when I made my runs back to restart my drifts. Next time, I'll be more carefull about the placement of those items. There was stuff bouncing and flying all around inside the boat. At one point I had to stop the boat to "save the camera". It got loose and was flopping around like a trout around the console on the deck. Sometimes I just take along too much stuff

All things considered the experience was a good one. 
Glad it worked out for you. It can be especially un-nerve'n to experience those conditions when you are out by yourself. It was good that the conditions did permit you to stop and recover/restore items. When you can't safely leave the wheel....you just have to let things go
