An interestingly colored triggerfish of some kind... definitely not a cowfish.

Saw several of these a few weeks ago on OAR-2k reef.
They were much bigger, and very friendly.

We saw a pair of those come up around the boat a few years back, was fishing out of Aucilla in 13 ft. of water. Had no idea what they were.

Think that's a filefish. Ran up on some many years ago on Wakulla reef..

Unicorn leatherjacket is a variety of filefish.
Quite popular as sashimi in Japan.

I've always called them a cow fish but after looking at some pics of unicorn Leatherjacket it looks like I was wrong. They are a pretty common fish in our near shore waters as I see them often. Generally they are just floating near the surface. Most of the ones I see are while running.

Used to catch a lot of those offshore in south Florida. Never tried them raw, but the meat is very white. Hard to catch hook and line but easy to get them to the boat following some cut bait. We would gaff them or shoot them with a recurve bow.
