St. Marks 6/15

Post by TOWM »

First post...Took my dad and two boys out to St. Marks Saturday. We did okay. Took home two keeper trout. The trout were caught on pinfish under a cork in 6 - 8 ft during the incoming tide. The largest trout was caught out front of the lighthouse. Other fish we landed included a big stingray, 4 ft lemon shark, 10” flounder, several baby sharks, and lots of pinfish and grunts. Live or dead shrimp fished on the bottom caught fish. Shrimp under a cork did not get bit. We did not try any artificial lures.
We did not catch a single lady fish or mackerel, which surprises me because two weeks ago every cast produced either a lady or Mack.
We caught the stingray and shark on pinfish that were bit in half by the baby sharks.

  Sounds like a good day out, thanks for posting. I bet that lemon shark stretched your line a bit!

6 to 8 is probably too deep for a cork, but a decent day !
