I haven't fished that particular pier, but I have fished from the Island View Inn pier. A lot is going to depend on what the water looks like when you are there. If the water is brown stained and weedy, I haven't had much luck. When the water is nice and clear, I have caught trout, seen but not caught lots of reds, and even had a visit from a 3 foot bonnethead shark. If the water is stained and dirty, take a drive over to St George Island and try the surf or wade the bay side. Lots of good info here on both of those subjects. If the water is clear, try wading the area in front of the mobile home park. Try a Cajun Thunder popping cork with a shrimp below it, should get some action. GL!

I have stayed there A few times but always had my boat. The water is not very deep off the pier. It might be better at night. garookie's advice sounds right.
