Re: Traffic Jam at Lanark Boat Club
Drove down to Panacea this am to check out a boat for my buddy. Trailers parked all over the side streets at Rock Landing and for a half-mile beyond the Wakulla River on Hwy 98. And boats were still heading south as I drove back to town.
I'm sitting home for the rest of the weekend, drinking beer and working on projects around the house.

I can confirm, as we pulled up at about 7:46 and was told no more room, drove to Steinhatchee and was able to get in there.Hit-n-Miss wrote:Smart man. Was told Keaton ramp full at 7:45 this am. No launches after that.

Heard there were emergency vehicles at the lighhthouse last evening, anyone know anything?
Shell Point was not as productive as it has been recently, and where did the early morning wind come from?

We saw a boat coming in from offshore with blue lights blazing. A cc was behind them running in hot. They were headed towards the lighthouse. I assumed a medical emergency

We were offshore and saw the black CC heading out further South & East. Hour or two later, we are at sandbar and we see an FWC boat staged with lights going. Then the Black boat comes hauling past with the other CC behind it, both throttled down completely. FWC jumps in behind with sirens blaring. It looks like someone was doing chest compressions in the back but couldn't get a clear view. Allegedly shut the ramp down to bring lifeflight in but never heard the chopper. Thoughts with those impacted, scary stuff.

Yesterday afternoon about dark:30 at shell point, the last bit of the fleet came in to the ramp. (About six boats) helped some guys get set up to the dock, boys reeked of alcohol and could barely walk on the dock. Another boater ran her boat into the ramp and dock. All while another vessel was heavy on the throttle trying to protect his spot almost hitting another boat waiting for dock space.
I pushed back off the dock and went gigging until it cleared out. Only to pull back to the beach and have kids trying to jump in my boat while drifting. But I did get to see some fireworks while avoiding pirates.
Y’all be safe. It’s a circus out there.
