Left Shields at 10:30 ( slept in after watching the choke at Doak 2 ), trolled 25-35 ft, no luck....bottom fished 28-30 ft, 2 spots. Had plenty of action, 4 keeper gags to 32", 1 keeper red grouper 24"....several shorts, a bunch of nice grunts and sea bass. Also hooked what I guess was a passing school bus :o ran off 100+ yards, stopped (thank goodness), then ran staight back to the boat, faster than I could reel....under the boat, now 100+ the other way, drag was as tight as I could get it, got it stopped....came back to about 30 yards and began to circle the boat very slowly :-? he wouldn't come any closer....about 15 minutes of this....finally broke off. My guess is a big shark, but it ran pretty fast, I don't think it was a king ???? This was at the first stop, after this the fish stopped bitting....Any whooooo, all on frozen ly's, cigar minnows, and sqiud...done at 3pm, home by 6pm, grill'n back strap by 7pm    life is goooood !!!!!!

Sounds like a very fun "and productive" trip  some day I'll have a boat that I can anchor and not have to just troll :-D
