St Marks social distancing

Post by onefishtwofish »

We distanced on the salt water today. Woke up in Quincy and rain and lightning all around at about 5:30. I have been off the last week and working on projects with my SIL on my house and his - we decided yesterday it was time for some fishing. About 6:00 it looked like it was going to clear, so we soldiered on. Had not hung out with my brother and great nephew in a while and we figured if it was raining at the coast, we would find something to do. No worries, by the time we made it was nice and cool on the water. Our plans changed when we realized the tide never really dropped out (must have been south winds during the storms last night).

I'll post pics from my phone in a minute, but we managed 9 reds, all slot other than one nice over.

As we left in the morning we noticed the lights on in a truck in the lot. We got back in and they were out. :o As we loaded the boat up we noticed him walking over. I pulled up next to him right as he was trying to crank it. He rolled his window down and I said "dead battery?". He was kinda perplexed for a minute and said "yeah". We told him we had seen his lights left on. We gave him a jump and had him on his way shortly. salute1

Oh yeah. My SIL set a new boat record with a 20 spot redfish. Beat his wife’s record! We have her a hard time - while she was at work.

Great report. May I ask what choice of bait you used?

Great job, guys. Glad you found some and avoided the storms.
