Power-Pole Micro Anchor
Thinking about adding a Micro Anchor to my skiff but I'm not sure it will fit since the skiff has trim tabs and a gunnel rail that may or may not be in the way. Has anyone got a Power-Pole Micro Anchor installed using the adjustable mounting base? I don't want to order the system until I know for sure it will work and I can't find the measurements for the mounting base listed anywhere.

I've dreamed about a power-pole but the price scares me away. Actually it's my wife finding out that scares me.

The Power Pole site has a lot of information. https://power-pole.com/micro under the specifications tab it says the mounting footprint is 5 inches wide and 6 inches tall. There are mounting instructions under the manuals tab that might be helpful also.

Thank you! I had read the info on the Power Pole site and overlooked the size in the specs tab.fishinfool wrote: June 24th, 2021, 7:30 am The Power Pole site has a lot of information. https://power-pole.com/micro under the specifications tab it says the mounting footprint is 5 inches wide and 6 inches tall. I believe it will fit with room to spare

Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor
What size skiff? I had a Micro on my Gheenoe LT25 and it worked fantastic.
I have an 8' Sportman on my 18' Action Craft it it works fantastic.
Capt. Dave had a Micro one on his Bevertail skiff and it's didn't work nearly as well. He had water intrusion problems and had to send it back several times under warranty. It sounds dumb but you can't hang it where it will get submerged or repeatedly hit by waves.
The Micro works great on very light craft but even on the Gheenoe it struggled to hold in a stiff incoming tide at St. Marks.

Have one on the Seaark but just installed straight to the transom , didn’t use the adjustable bracket, but I don’t have trim tabs or pods in the way

I have the Pro series 2 on my Sea Ark and don't know how I ever fished without it.

Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor
I have an 8' Sportsman too (on my 21' Sea Pro). The Micro Anchor is going on a Scout 162 Sportfisher. I don't expect it to work as well as the Sportsman on the bay boat and I won't complain too much if it won't hold every time since it's cost is about 1/3 the cost of the Sportsman. I did read that it has to be mounted above the water line so I need to double check how high the water rides on the transom. I don't think mounting on the deck is even an option since it would have to go over a lip on the transom. Can you run with the pole elevated or does it have to be taken out of the mount before taking off?rockyg wrote: June 24th, 2021, 1:17 pm What size skiff? Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor
When you double click the up button it raises the pole all the way then runs it back down about 6". I ran with it that way all the time with no issues.
I cant tell much from your pic about mounting options. As you mentioned you need to mount it where it stays out of the water. Spray is fine, dunking is not.

I don't understand but this video review makes it sound like you need to thoroughly flush the inner hub area of the unit after use.
