Keaton 11-27

Post by dstockwell »

Well NOAA was not far of on the forecast, but not that bad to get in and out of. It was 10 - 15, and 2 - 3 for the most part. Meet Chugbugg and his dad going down the Keaton canal, water temp inshore 57, offshore 66. We both headed in bout the same direction, to 50ft, after the about a hour or so total time we settled in at 50ft. Cut LY seemed the better bait choice, others got ate but more by the smaller stuff I believe. First spot anchored was just slightly of the mark, but the machine still showed good bottom, a few bites but the only thing to come up was a big lizard fish. OK, pull up and move about 50 or so yards and try again. This time we hit paydirt, first a Red, then a Gag, and the same again, a few Grunts, and the grouper stoped biting, however 4 keepers and no shorts, a few grunts and it was time to call it as the afternoon forecast was starting to build. Headed in an decided to chunk a few Thunders and took one Trout, time to head to the hill.
