For scallop season it was pretty dead, everybody getting towed was in steinhatchee.

It wasn't when I went by, we fished and didn't even see a group of boats scalloping but we were north mainly.

I'm hearing scallop season was mostly a bust at St. Marks, so it may not be good at Keaton either. Lots of spring rain seem to have an adverse effect on the season.

I've got a buddy at keaton now it's not a bust but a lot of schools have started back so it's taken some pressure off IMO

You have to figure that the shark story that made all the news channels had some impact also. I know my neighbors who own a place at Econfina had no interest in scalloping this year and my brother who normally goes with me every year wanted to fish instead.
I fished from Dog Island to beyond the FSU Marine Lab last Friday and did not see any scallopers at all. Normally there are a few out behind the condos .

It hasn't hampered steinhatchee but it wouldn't hurt to back the pressure down there anyway. My neighbor did catch some nice trout out of keaton in 12ft, all we found was horrible floating grass.

At least has slacked off some at Keaton. Good to hear.
