Slayer's post in the Area Fishing Reports Section reminded me to post this -
My buddy June and I fished out of Spring Warrior last Saturday and got checked by a Game Warden when we came back to the ramp in the afternoon. June purchased a fishing license from Walmart about 2 weeks ago, but when she ran his name his license came back as expired. the game warden was very professional and asked where he renewed his license.
She told us that sometimes Walmart takes a month or two to report all the licenses sold to FWC. So it is possible to think you are legal but still be expired because a clerk at Walmart is in no hurry to turn in some paperwork.
My recommendation would be to renew on line. You can instantly print a copy of the new license when you do this or take a picture of it with your phone.

Re: Public Service Announcement - Walmart Fishing Licenses
That's crazy! I agree about purchasing online. I bought my Sportsman's Lifetime 10-12 years ago, just so I wouldn't have to worry about remembering to purchase one each year. But, now you still have to get online to get Migratory bird permit and State Reef angler.

Download the FWC app and don't forget to sync it in case you have no cell service.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?

I always have bought mine online off my phone, then I take a screenshot of the license and save it to my phone.
