Ernie was also full of Biblical knowledge. During a Bible study, for example, he would be the one who could explain the nuances of ancient Greek words that had been translated into modern English in our Bibles. Ernie also had a great sense of humor. One day he asked me, "Do you want to know how you can get a really nice 7' fishing rod?" "Of course," I said. Then he explained, "Take a 7'6" fishing rod and close it in a car door."
