It matters to me and it matters to lots on here, but I don't think that's much of an issue here.
Inshore I don't really need a GPS and I've fished what I'd call, successfully, without one and still do most of the time.
Offshore where there's very few points of reference (mostly a few towers) they are less of a toy gaget than inshore.
I worked a lot in high tech and tech do-dads interest me, somewhat, but I don't loose any sleep over which is the best one, because it depends on your personal interests, priorities and disposable income.
It's great to live in a country where we can choose between one toy or another!
I can shoot the chit over the merits, or not, of a few fishing type things and I certainly don't know everything for every situation, but I can only speak for myself and my preferences with what I currently know and I can't make up anybody else's mind, nor would I even try!
Yes it matters to me and perhaps doesn't matter to you!
I don't have a problem with that, do you?

I’m cool, man!
Even without that Sponge Bob Neck Cooler Thingie!
I was asked a question and I answered it!
My tone was, at zero!
For who ever had a tone problem, I beg their forgiveness, honest!
I had a comment about the eTrex post, and it was packed in ice, too, but I’m going to max-chill, and slip out into the night!
But, thanks for the feed-back!
Merry Christmas, y’all!

In a land called, Perfect, sea grits grows on the beach dunes in patches next to those of sea oats!

Go ahead and shoot, we're all friends here (I hope). I've had two negative experiences with the eTrex line, one direct and one indirect. Both have started fogging and shorting out, while never having been submerged. Granted, both of these occurrences only count as anecdotal evidence (statistics 101: "two anecdotes do not a trend make"), but it has ruined me on the eTrex line forever.sea-grits wrote:I had a comment about the eTrex post, and it was packed in ice, too, but I’m going to max-chill, and slip out into the night!

Here's Mine and I like it......It's held tightly in place in my boat by a "Ram Mount".
