Cabelas Salt Striker rod/reels

Post by mojokoko »

So I decided to get some "Good" rods and reels for xmas. So I ordered 3 Salt Striker rods and 3 Salt Striker Reels from cabelas.com. I must say that they are very light and feel damn good with the reel on. I will have to head out to st marks and give them a try in a couple of weeks.

I got one a couple of months ago. Haven't used it as much as I'd like; but, I've been pleased with performance so far.

I have a Salt Striker spinning, 2-piece, beach rod which has been used extensively without complaints.

A little rust on the underside of the guide supports. However with a rod that has taken as much abuse as this one -- that is to be expected.

I bought the combo of the 7' 1 piece rod and the SS 40 reel (part #.ISS703LB) It has worked flawlessly. I took it brand new to Louisianna about a month ago and fished with it all day for two days. It is by far my favorite inshore spinning rod. We fish with other Falcon and All Star rods, but I honestly like the Salt Striker better. You will enjoy it!! I have an SS60 spinning reel that I use for jigging for Grouper and it too has been a great reel.

Let us know when the new rod jinx has worn off :-D :-D
