So, I bagger Tom for weeks on penciling in a date between Christmas and the New Years for our annual trip to our "honey hole" at the stained Fenholloway river....Well the date is made and rendezvous is arranged…..
What are the tides?
2004-12-29 09:51 EST -0.48 feet Low Tide
2004-12-29 16:19 EST 2.67 feet High Tide
Doesn’t look bad does it? Well we launch and head out the river…Tom forgets his sunglasses, turn around back to the truck……We comment and say wonder what a negative 1.5 tide looks like as we make our way to the mouth….Arrive at the mouth to witness what I can only call a mine field of hazards, the “Rock Gardenâ€
Some pictures I took...My camera didn't want to work, it was scared
Actually it was cold...it said the new batteries were dead, but works fine this morning, same batteries...
Lots of work and a long drive looks like it had a big payoff. Just reading the story makes my back ache. Is that a rental boat? I am sure there is a story in there somewhere. I like the "walking on water picture Those negative tides can have a spooky effect, but allot of fun when the tide turns. The area you are in looks alive, and must be very remote. The CPR idea is great! Good Job!
Time is the most precious commodity we have in life, stay focused.
Excellent and entertaining report. TK, we all know a picture is worth a thousand words. But in the same breath, I will say, Chalk, the the write up was entertaining too. Like RB and probably others, my first thought was this guy Chalk, can really walk on water- How cool is that??
Sounds like you two had a nice day and a good catch..
Wow! I can't wait 'til quittin' time to read this more carefully! What a beutiful day at a beutiful place, with a great catch to boot! Thanks for all the great pix; and a mighty fine report.
