Poor mans bait prep.

Post by dstockwell »

Took a cutting board cut off the handle, mounted to a 3/4" x 2' piece of galvanized pipe and the flange to the board with stainless screws, cut a slit for a knife. No need for sides and a back for prep, can slide it out of the two mounts and store in the fish box.

That galvanized pipe will last about 2 trips befor it starts corroding. May want to replace with aluminum.

I would of put it the splash well and angled to the stern....That way fish juice wouldn't end up on the deck....

Good job..DS..I expect to see it in Gaff next month with some scantly dressed women doing a table dance :o

I'll take a pic of the underside, but would have to use washers or something else on the underside to make an angle.

What ever happened to using the business end of a boat paddle to cut bait?

It almost got lost in the abyss of social fragmentation, :o but now-- thanks to to dstocckwell and jumptrout51 and our virtual community-- it is given new life! What a great idea! The paddle! Why didn't I think of that?! :smt110 [And to think how many times I used the bloody bench seat! ] Thanks! :-)

Nice job, but how about a poorer man’s bait prep? Cutting board $0.86 at Wal-Mart, not including bait, knife, or pliers…
