Dear Apalachee Bay Anglers,
Cool weather has shocked many of our fish as they acclimatize to Winter weather. That will mean good news to weekend anglers. By Friday these fish will begin to feed again. Getting into creeks will be a good fishing pattern. The farther up the creek, the better.
As they begin to feed again, free meals are on their mind. Shrimp, squid and cut mullet on a hook is excellent bait. The Wakulla and St. Marks Rivers will also be huge for redfish and hopefully trout! Many sheephead and mangrove snapper are schooled up in the rivers.
David Wilson and his family fished from shore while camping-out at St. George Island and picked up seven reds total. Here's two of their best!
(David was using gold spoons)

Bob O'Lary, Flora Bennett and Craig Zody caught 150 fish last weekend. They put dead shrimp on a small hook and dropped it to the bottom and small mangroves and sheephead kept on biting. As long as something pulls on their line, Bob and Company are happy. They're in the right frame of mind, and it doesn't get any better.
Redfish are still up the St. Marks river. The Peterson brothers caught eleven reds to 27 inches. THey fished shrimp on the bottom just past the power plant. These fish will be up the Wakulla and St. Marks to the highway 98 bridge. Fish anything on the bottom --- Scott
