I've seen preview pics of their hull. Looks like it's gonna be a neat little project.

Makes ya think about a new set of boat plans.

Hard to get a perspective on size from the pictures. Looks to have about a 4' beam. What are the dim. Looks like it is beamy enough to be stable. What kind of power are you planing.

It's has a maximum beam of 54" and I plan on powering it with a 25 hp...Maybe a 30 hp...don't tell JEM though

I would like to watch the launching. The picture i have in my mind is a hydroplane racing boat a friend and I had when we were in high school. I bet it flies.

Man..3/4" sheets of mahogany plywood is heavy, but all the frames are layed out and waiting for a date with the saw....

I cheated a little on the plans...squeezed another bulkhead out of a sheet by rotating and fudging a little..The bulkhead is 48-1/2" , by the time I fillet and fiberglass I will have to sand the sharp edges off the bulkheads....So to lay it out correctly I needed to find a point in space...I used my long board and some clamps to find the point and layout the cut lines.....

I need to layout the hull panels and start cutting....

Well hope I made enough sawdust for JEMâ€¦I have cut most all the 3/4 and 3/8 pieces out, still need to cut notches out and make the stringer and motor well matesâ€¦

All thatâ€™s left now is laying out the hull panels and cutting them outâ€¦Then I can start getting jiggy with it and make it start looking like a boatâ€¦

Iâ€™m hoping JEM will send me a couple yards of biax and some epoxy for Valentinesâ€¦

Well here is half a boat, that has been ironed flat

Everything checked out per the drawings, all that is left to do is make the mates and it will be time for some epoxy and fiberglass.
