having a problem with this unit picking up satelites. could take 30 min. to lock on and give me a position fix so I can navigateand this is unacceptible. can antenas go bad? any suggestions. Thanks. It has an externel antena.

You may have already checked but check the ant. and power wires for corrossion. My Lowrannce has a connection about 6" fron the GPS ant. Give cust. service a call. Good Luck!
