Shimano Corsair CS300A

Post by arcadiainc »

Morning--The wife bought me a Shimano Corsair round reel. I have always used spinning gear but need to broaden my horizons. I tend to favor long rods so my question is: "What type, action, length etc rod should I look for?" I just want to be able to use it competently. Your input will be appreciated. :o

What do you intend to use the reel for? If you're inshore fishing, I would recommend a 7', medium light, action trigger grip casting rod.
What was I supposed to do today?

Thanks, Tincan, Yes inshore fishing is what I had in mind. The local stores up here stock without exception medium heavy action rods. I felt that would not work.

Arcadian.... FWIW Bass pro has a few models of Bionic blade rods on sale for $40.00 on their web site.. I have a corsair on a Bionic blade that I use for slingin' corks or cut bait. Not the easiest or smoothest casting rig but works. I find it harder to cast 1/4 oz or less with this rig than others though. That might just be me :smt013
