Me and 3 of my good buddies put in at 800 at Mashes Sands. Headin out was a little rough on the 21' Stamas w/ the 2-3 footers with the occasional 4 footer. Had to try for live bait but nothin. Tried the flats and 24 and not a single pinfish. Planned on goin out to 50' out to the SSE. Ended up stoppin in 30' to see if we could pick a few up. We never left 30'....Started slow with nothin but blacks...then finally a grouper...then another...19",21"...then finally got a keeper. Nice 25" gag. About that time, the bite was ON. They were hittin LY's, Cigars, Squid, you name it and they ate it. We're gettin slammed left and right. After about 45 min. the bite slowed. We ended up pickin up 9 gags to 29". Moved to another spot in 35'. Picked one more up. Then they got the ole' lockjaw. About that time (4:30) waves and wind slacked up a little bit...time to head on in. Final tally...... 10 gags to 29", few good blacks, and a helluva time. Can't wait to get back out there.
