Spun a few up....Both flies are my first of this type...

A Kwan (Merkin with a bent shank)....

Those look real nice. I found my 20 year old pond fishin fly rod in mom & dads shed last year decided to give it a whirl , on about the sixth spanish the old K-mart reel got real hot locked up and broke the rod.

Sure was fun long as it lasted

. Been lookin at new tackle ever since. any suggestions on brands, weights, size of reel to catch these speedsters

You can spend as much as you can stand on fishing tackle, reels run from $15.00 to $600.00 and up.....An 8 wt with a good drag would do you fine

Chalk- Could you make me a few peanut or pecan looking ones? I can't keep a fly out of the trees so I figure I should target the squirrels... Haven't been able to get them to bite conventional flies yet. Please help!!!

Wrong trout....

....Though I have caught some bream on flies like that.....
