Cedar Key sheepshead & offshore report w/pics. Sat, Mar

Post by Big Bend Brian »

Tom, it's been a while since I've posted here but I'll make the effort to hangout more frequently.

The plan for the day was to fish in the GOFC Sheepshead Shootout, held in part out of Cedar Key, and later go further offshore to catch a grouper bite aboard the Bare Necessities. Fishing with me were GOFCers Bernie “Thumbsthelizardfishmanâ€

Now that's a dang good report, and with great pictures.
I ask a question about the legality of taking octopus a while back and no one ever said one way or another. I mean, we kept a couple for bait and I didn't want to say so here, in front of God and ever'body for fear of finding, they were protected or something. Grouper seemed to love the stuff. The only pblm being, to get the little bugger, to let go of your hand long enough, to cut off a tenicle...
Again, very good report..

qoutrage, put em on ice first. Remember to wash off the ink on the fiberglass too. Within 20-25 minutes it’ll leave a slight black stain. Along with lizardfish and remora, never throw back an octopus for grouper fishing.
