Keaton Beach 3/6/05

Post by birddog »

Had the boat in the water by 7:30 ran south and fished some 3' water between Piney pt. and Grassy Island, no luck. Ran out deeper to the west and picked up a couple of 13" trout in 6'-8' using jigs on the bottom. Ran back north to Little Spring Creek fished the oyster bars and the creek, no luck. Stopped in some 6'-7' water between Dekle and the Keaton channel markers, picked up another short trout. Saw a few boats catching shorts on shrimp. Headed in around 4:00. Tough day. Come on spring.

The water was clear until you got north of dekle or Adams. Tea colored around Little Spring Creek.

Thanks for the report, Birddog. Luck of th' draw, I guess. Some good reports coming in, so maybe in the next week or so, it'll really pick up.

6-7 feet. With the temps still down they must be deeper somewhere.
Thanks for the report!
