Spring Fishing report

Post by rx fisher »

Man, I'm glad it's Spring, the winter fishing has been rough.
Went with Don England to see what we could do, We had
planned to fish the Keyton Beach area, but with the WIND
we decided to stay closer to our regular haunts.

Got to Shell point just at low tide and fished up to high tide.
Very low tide and Very Windy. Poked around the Oyster bars
and had a great day with great company.

The bite for reds and trout lasted about an hour. We caught four trout up to 18 inches, all keepers and 3 reds, just short of limit, but fun.

Bite died down for about an hour, then we got caught up into some, BIG sheepshead. They were a blast.
and will be good eating tonight.

Can't wait to get out again.

RX,yesterday was the perfect day, ending with a nice bag of filets. gonna pull out a half dozen or so of those jumbo shrimp to go along with dinner tonight.
Any one fishing oyster bay be very careful even inside the markers, cleaned off the paint on my new lower unit yesterday. Its a waste of paint on real flats boat, anyway ;-)
Every thing was caught on JERRY'S shrimp or tipped with, slow retreive in about 8 feet of water.Rx,thanks for the chum secret,we would not have those purty sheephead without it
Wind?? what wind?? I didn't see any wind :-D
