Let's get some ideas. Will this fresh water push the trout away from the shorelines and into deeper water or are the trout acclimated to the fresh water and likely to stay inshore especially if we get some warm weather and the shallows warm up.
Wevans how has this fresh water impacted the water temps.
What do ya'll think all this fresh water is going to do

The river temp yesterday was around 64 degrees and the bay was at 66 on Saturday, so it looks like it souldn't hurt things to much 
We are going to try and test out the project boat this afternoon and will hopfully get a temp. reading then 
The Trout may stay close to the mouths or they may just move up or down the shoreline away from the fresh, just depends on where the food source goes

I can tell you this, you have a lot more water coming your way than you think, i'm in Columbus Ga and we got 6 " this weekend and the " hooch" is muddy and overfull and coming you way and i'm sure along with all the rest of the rivers to. Gonna make for a tough time in the near future i think ! Somethings always gotta ruin the party..

We do have plenty of experience with situations like this. We've seen it before. A big flush drops the salinity and stains the water. The ~2 week result is scattered fish & difficult patterns to read -at least for me. That won't help me Wednesday when I'm trying to get out
It won't stop me either.
But the really good news is that the nutrient input in the longer term (+ 2 weeks) should result in a strong spike in productivity:
plankton (phyto then zoo) - inverts - bait fish - big fish - bigger fish....
That should add up to good fishing in our area (2-3 months!) because without the nutrients the trophic cupboard is empty.

Where do we fish for trout in the St Marks river in the winter time? Past TECO, right......What do you think the salinity levels are that far up river?
Don't assume that some rain will push fish off the bank or out of the creeks due to an increase of rain fall....The biggest trout that has ever been in my boat came from the bank, when water was running over the seawall from excess rainfall at lowtide at Econfina....
