After surfing the waves yesterday in the salty stuff, Dad and I decided to try a little freshwater stuff. Morning started out good with a couple of small bass. Dad hooked up on a spinnerbait and I hooked up on a 5" Senko. About a half an hour later, I managed to hook this little guy.
I turned him loose; but, by the measurements we took she looked to be about 9 pounds. Biggest largemouth I've ever landed or ever seen for that matter (except the ones swimming in Bass Pros aquarium). Looked like she had just spawned or I could've probably added a couple of more pounds to her. Fish of a lifetime for me and made my Dad's day just seeing her jumping her way to the boat.
ALRIGHT Some fish in the boat and more time with dad "Ya can't tell I miss my oldest girl, can ya"
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
Nice job Eerman, and a good job on the pictures and reporting.
wevans...I feel your pain and I'm sure there's a few other "Dads" out there who know what we're talking about. You younger Dads... listen and take it to heart!! when we say spend all the time you can with the young ones (as well as your parents)..You'll turn around one day and the available time that you took for granted as always being there for the "next time" will disappear.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
I learned to bass fish with my Dad way back in the 40's-60's in Lake Jackson. We fished with long cane poles with jug stoppers for corks and lake caught shiners..out of Miller Landing. Some great fishing memories. Largest bass we ever caught was 11 3/4 lbs.....caught by a buddy I took to show him how to fish. A real great place.
Those were nice pictures....took me back a long time.
