Well I’ll try to add and fill in since Rodbow left me to tell the details. We launched at the Fort and were on the water about 10:30. The parking lot looked like a weekend! Even with low tide at launch time there was plenty of water and we ran out just past the Light House, then turned East. We saw a couple of groups of pelicans diving on something and we decided to try a drift in their area. Rodbow started throwing a large chugbug and I was using a red glitter grub with no CT or jig head. (jumptrout51 style)
Rodbow had some swirls at the topwater almost immediately, but no hookup. The birds were continuing to dive and feed and we kept repositioning our drifts to cross the spots where the activity seemed to be but we were never able to find what they were feeding on. Rodbow finally had a nice trout hit the topwater close to the boat but he came off after just a few seconds. I had one legal on the grub but tried to swing it into the boat without netting it ….. but I must have hit the “quick releaseâ€

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Picture are nice SR, but the story is better- nice flow to it.
It's good to hear y'all had such a good day- the kind of day we all like to have.
Chrome Dome- It's been a long time, since I heard that term. If it wasn't for a few widely scattered hairs, it would describe me.
Oh, to be young and handsome again,... Well, how 'bout just young..
Good report, thanks. Keep'em coming.
