DixieReb ask:
How was the water color over there? It is stained and real dark over Econfina way.
The story on Water color is going to sound a bit strange but here goes. When Rodbow and I stopped just South of Peters Rock the water was pretty clear...and there was floating grass. We saw a couple of very long foam lines running North and South. When we moved in to the 5-6 ft range the water was still pretty clear. We made a fairly long drift and then around 2 pm we headed back to the beginning of the drift where the depth made a transition from 6ft to 5ft. This was obviously later in the day. Both Rodbow and I almost at the same time notice that the water was now very brown with a lot of suspended particles. This about 2 hrs before high tide. As we looked towards shore we could actually see a demarcation point where the cloudy water stopped and clearer water began. It seemed strange that the clearer water would be closer to shore and the dirty water on the outside in the deeper water but that was what had happend just since the first drift. Anyway we never caught any more fish on the second drift until we entered the clearer water. Don't have a temp sensor so not sure what change if any might have occurred.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
