Dog Island Reef

Post by Koenig »

Hey there Ladies and Gents! I've read and enjoyed all the reports for some time now. Finally decided to chime in, hold no one minds. :D

Well, a buddy and I decided to venture over to Dog Island Reef Sunday. We got out there kinda late. Started fishing and became quickly discouraged as nothing was biting. We tossed all the "secret weapons" we could think of plus the kitchen sink! Nothing seemed to work. Then we notice fish were chasing the lures hitting them but not biting. We were able to fowl hook and land 4 Spanish and 2 blues. The Spanish seemed to be pretty thick. Every cast we had one or two following our lures. So I will agree, "the Spanish are here!" Then the wind and chop picked and we had to leave. Talk about a rough rid back! YIKES! :o

Thanks for the post Koenig and welcome to the zoo.
Sometimes if you don't reel fat enough dem macks will do that. Next time try burning the bait back to the boat.
