Tried our luck around Peter's Rock Area in the early AM with little result. We caught only one small Spanish off of a thunderspin and one nice Speck off of CT and Tipped Jig however there were a few misses. After a little tide line moved through around 9:45-10, the fishing slowed to a halt. We tried trolling with some home-made rigs but could'nt make it work. We ran over to the Oyster Bars around Shell Point/ Oyster Bay around 11 to meet a friend who had caught a nice Red early but after an hour or so with no luck, we decided to try it again around Stony Bayou. So, we ran back across the bay and set up in 5-7 ft of water drifting with the SW wind. Around 3:00 the fish started to bite and we just repeated our drift through the target depth of water. Our luck came mostly from closer to the bottom using straight jigs bumped off the grass or CT's and live shrimp with longer leaders. We could'nt make ourselves quit and didn't trailer the boat till 7:30pm Here is our results.

Wevans - was that you on the oyster bar off shell point? You must have seen me break my trolling motor bracket - I was fighting with it and the current when I drifted too close!:smt120
