Sunday early at St. Marks

Post by tnrockhound »

I have been reading the great reports recently and not had a chance to go, but squeezed a trip in between my daughters birthday party and a full house of out of town family. Headed to the lighthouse at approx 6 am and hit the water roughly by 7:15. It was breezy out of NE and water was cloudy. I only had a hour or so and headed quickly just east of light house to drift SW toward the channel. Throwing a pink and green SA under a CT in probably 6 feet of water and caught three keeper trout in roughly 30 minutes. Decided that was enough for dinner and took a ride with my new (to me) motor purchased from LiveLine. Motor is great, huge difference compared to the 9.7 hp Mercury. Had pan fried trout with the family for dinner and have had trout poor boys for a couple days. It was a great quick trip.
It's always better than work
