Night fishing

Post by dogonenuts »

About this time last year I remember seeing some reports on night fishing for trout on the flats. Is it too early to be thinking about this? Will be going back to St. Marks on the next full moon. Anyone think this would be a good time to try it? What lures would one recommend?

Thanks,

Nuts

I DO A LOT OF NIGHT FISHING WHEN THE WEATHER IS A LITTLE WARMER, ALMOST ANY NIGHT THAT YOU CAN SEE BY THE MOONLITE IS A GOOD NIGHT. WE ALWAYS USE BIG TOP WATER PLUGS, ONES WITH PROPS ON BOTH ENDS OF THE PLUG, BIG POPPER PLUGS LIKE THE LUCKY 13 AND I HAVE CAUGHT TROUT ON THE HULAPOPPER. THE NIGHTS 3-4 NIGHTS BEFORE AND AFTER FULL SEEM TO BE THE BEST FOR US. BE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING AND GET YA ONE OF THOSE LITTLE HEAD LAMPS DOWN AT WALLY WORLD THEY REALLY COME IN HANDY WHEN YOU ARE TAKEING THE HOOKS OUT OF THE FISH, KEEPS FROM BLINDING OTHER PEOPLE IN THE BOAT.
